Regulations
ISO 14726-1 (1999) details basic marking of piping systems in accordance with the content and/or function on board ships and marine structures.
ISO 14726-2 (2002) details specific additional colours to be used in conjunction with the main colours given in ISO 14726-1.
The chart above shows all the current permutations of identification colours from both the above standards.
This system is not intended to identify medical or industrial gasses and cargos.

Installation
Tapes should be fitted either side of valves, at bulkhead penetrations, 'T's and crosses etc and at regular intervals along the pipe.
Prior to application pipes and lagging must be dust and oil free.
The tape should be overlapped by at least 20mm on the blind side of the pipe.
